I try to be an available extension to their team. Whether they need an SDR, data analyst, or recruiter, I am willing to roll up my sleeves to help enable their vision.
Mental health. Being a founder can be a difficult and often lonely experience, particularly as a solo founder. I’ve seen founders suffer from stress and burnout, and I believe that it is something important to be aware of and support each other on.
Authentic to the problem. The best founders are ones who do not look for a problem to solve or a company to start, but instead experience a problem first hand and relentlessly pursue a solution.
I have a 750 page draft for the first book of a fantasy trilogy about a world in which humans can harness the power of their souls. I was working with an editor of Stephen King’s to try to get it published but stopped when I started in VC.
Non-profit work is very important to me. I started a non-profit to donate books and toys to children experiencing extended stays in hospitals, and I have run in a dozen half marathons on my brother’s behalf for the Crohns and Colitis Foundation.
It’d have to be a tie between writing, trying restaurants, and playing squash! I also love binge-watching my favorite shows (Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, Stranger Things, and Dark to name a few!) and traveling all over the world (I’ve been to 25+ countries).
When I interviewed with Redpoint, I was blown away by how much the team genuinely cared for one another and for its founders. The team truly believes that the people are what make a company successful.
Founders succeed. When I am able to play even a small part in helping them achieve their vision, I am reminded of why I love this job so much.
Lin-Manuel Miranda! Hamilton and In the Heights are two of my favorite Broadway shows.
I went on a three-week trip throughout Japan; a few highlights included staying with Buddhist Monks on Mount Kōya, attending opening hours of Tsukiji market, and bathing in a hot spring in Japan’s mountainside.
A food critic! A goal of mine is to eat at the top 100 restaurants in the world! My three favorite so far are Noma (in Copenhagen), Alinea (in Chicago), and Eleven Madison Park (in New York).
