Modern Infrastructure for High-Consequence Hardware

I still remember when we had dinner with Scott. What started as a meal turned into three hours of animated conversation about SpaceX, rockets, control systems, compiler design, and why so much of the world’s critical hardware still runs on brittle, decades-old software. By the end of the night, we knew we had to be involved.

Our conviction to invest came from Scott’s exceptional founder-market fit, real technical differentiation, and the scale of the opportunity ahead.

Scott spent nearly a decade at SpaceX, where he led development of the control software used to test and operate Falcon rockets and helped build the system adopted by Starship. In that world, software bugs don’t create inconvenience, they create catastrophic failure, determinism, precision, and operational rigor are existential.

There are few people who understand real-time systems, industrial protocols, compiler design, and high-consequence operations at that depth. Scott is one of them. He has assembled a team with similarly rare backgrounds from places like SpaceX, Palantir, and Anduril to build something genuinely hard.

Revel rebuilds the hardware control stack from first principles. Revel delivers a modern, deterministic platform for testing and operating complex systems, from benchtop R&D to full industrial control. Customers are replacing years of accumulated legacy vendors and in-house infrastructure in weeks and cutting new test stand deployments from months to days. When testing is the bottleneck, compressing the feedback loop fundamentally changes innovation velocity.

We are in the early stages of a hardware renaissance. New space, advanced energy, defense, and aerospace companies are all under pressure to move faster and build more ambitiously. If these sectors define the next decade, the control and testing infrastructure beneath them will be the enabling foundation. When failure can cost millions of dollars or years of delay, software that increases reliability and speed isn’t incremental…it’s transformative.

We’re proud to partner with Scott and the team as they build the software backbone for the future of high-consequence hardware. To adventure and fellowship 🚀
