Puneet Chawla joined Redpoint as an Entrepreneur-in-Residence in January 2012 after taking a six-month travel sabbatical.

Most recently, he spent 2 years in the Office of the CTO at VMware and led strategic efforts at the intersection of cloud computing and desktop virtualization.

Prior to that Puneet spent 5 years in VMware R&D working on various virtual machine management, provisioning and hypervisor technologies. Puneet was the first engineer on the company's flagship VMware View product line, a business that went from $0 in 2005 to $150M in 2010. He also spent a lot of time at big customer sites to facilitate large scale virtualization deployments. Puneet has a Master's Degree in Computer Science from the University of Florida and a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Punjab Engineering College, India. He is also an investor and advisor to various startups in the US and India.
